Will there be difficulty breathing after rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)?

After surgery, there may be difficulty breathing in the early stages, such as during the first month. This is because there is swelling from the surgery, and certain procedures are performed during the operation. For example, we reduce the size of the nasal turbinates using a device called radiofrequency. Crusting may occur on the turbinates, which can obstruct airflow. However, after the second or third month post-surgery, your breathing will improve and become much more comfortable due to the effects of the surgery. If, after 2 to 3 months, your breathing is still not good, we need to consider potential bad habits, such as smoking, which could be affecting your recovery. If that's the case, smoking should be stopped. Additionally, allergic reactions due to seasonal changes or environmental factors may also affect breathing, or there could be an upper respiratory tract infection related to the season. These issues can be resolved in close consultation with your doctor.
