I am 16 years old. Can I have surgery?
I would answer this as follows: Especially in girls, the anatomical development of the nose and face is typically completed around the ages of 16 or 17, and in boys, around 17 or 18. After these ages, it is possible to undergo surgery. However, it can be difficult for a young patient to make this decision on their own. Therefore, we evaluate the patient and their family together during the pre-operative consultation and examination. We assess the patient's physical and psychological maturity with the family and make the decision for surgery accordingly.
